Sharon - the poll probably was referring to the deals with his son. Most of us have problems with our politicians. Each US President has faced some sort of personal scandal that grabs the "corruption" issue. I'm sure much could be said throughout Europe and other "democracies."

The point I was trying to make is that even so, the mideast neighborhood is so far away from any comparison. Although you may have in Israel (or the US or Europe) a populace that thinks its leaders are corrupt, Israel's neighbors are ruled by tyrants, despots and OILogarchs. In other words, there is a double standard put forth by weenies and bigots.

My comment about Syria is that they are being pushed in a direction that is positive. Of course, they are far from the end of the journey. The rumblings both in Kurdish areas and in Lebanon are favorable for the entire neighborhood. Love him or hate him, it's part of the George Bush legacy and it surprising many of his critics.
