While Clinton was racking up 8 years of unprecedented expansion your line was that presidents have nothing to do with the economy. Now bush is a f...ing economic genius, even though the numbers I posted yesterday show the real story.

I haven't suggested that Bush is an "economic genius". But it is indisputable that Bush has used the limited ability of a president to influence the economy wisely. By getting Congress to cut taxes, he has done what he can do. The primary responsibilty does, as you suggest however, remain with Congress.

In Clinton's case, he was simply the beneficiary of something that was going to happen with or without him. More important than anything Clinton did was Gingrich's Contract With America. More important than either was the growth of the IT business.
