"Show me where Jesus taught that blindness was demonic" This passage clearly suggests that blindness is caused by devil possession and can be cured by casting out the demon. MATTHEW "12:22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw." The bible is replete with references to demon possession as causing sickness of various kinds. You perhaps recall when Jesus sent the demon(s) into a couple of thousand pigs. They were in a naked man. They talked to Jesus and begged to him. So Jesus very clearly saw demons as the primary cause of sickness. His modus operandi was always to cast out demons. He was very superstitious and knew absolutely nothing about the true causes of blindness, epilepsy, and various body and brain disorders. In His primitive superstitious world, sickness was caused by creatures that went into people and took possession of their body and/or minds. Oral Roberts is able to smell such creatures (demons)--even today. He knows what they smell like. You have probably smelled demons, too. but you would not know what they smell like--not having been properly trained to differentiate. I am not certain whether Jesus actually smelled the demons, but He did yammer with them and make conversation. Jesus never knew that Lutein was good for eyesight but He did hanker after figs and used to walk for entire days just to eat figs. He once went berserk when He walked for miles only to discover that the fig tree was out of season. He then put a CURSE on it. But figs are still very good to eat. In Peru they eat lots of figs and grapes. They would never curse figs in Peru because they are so good to eat. Jesus really liked figs but He had never been to Peru. I don't know if demons like figs but it is possible that when people smell like figs it has a lot to do with demon diet.
