I don't really see any good reason to waste the bytes to change the date/time size. It doesn't make/break the appearance at all, IMO. I try to limit size changes as much as possible not only to save the necessary bytes, but because in my own case, the more sizes, the more confused my eyes get and the less able they are to quickly process the screen.
