I'm a bit pressed for time, but wanted to comment on your U.S. crude oil consumption statistics. Yours are a bit out of date.

As of last December, the U.S. was importing 63% of its crude supply, according to Boone Pickens. And the latest statistics for CY 2005 project an 83 MMbpd consumption rate with imports exceeding 65% of consumption. I'll have to get back to you on the citations.
