ROFLMAO!!! How would that keep you alive for even an extra day?

The government will make you POOR through Social Security, and DEAD through "public" health care.

And to think they will ever give a shit is a BIG mistake...

I also have friends who are at the retirement age----they are surprised and in shock at the SS system.

By the time they finish with medicare payments, long term health and Supplemental insurance if needed----there is little left in the monthly social security check . And, if they continue to work then they must give back on the social security.

They also are faced with denial of medical help because they are considered too old via medical guidelines------i.e. don't qualify for heart operations that could give them perhaps 20 years of better quality life.

I know of a person who got a major heart operation at age 80 and is now at age 90 playing his music and looking no more than a healthy 60. He was denied a heart operation----his son pulled strings and he got the procedure. IMO services should not be denied because of age---this is what one could call age discrimination.

There are many doctors in our area that will not accept medicare. That means even if one has medicare you must pay out of pocket for expenses from a doctor who may actually be your long term physician when you reach the age for medicare. Or, pay out of pocket for the doctors who are truly good.

If one is going to have medicare----then I believe there must be legislation that requires ALL DOCTORS to see medicare patients------absolutely not allowed to discriminate because of type of insurance or age.

I do understand about preexisting conditions-----basically we all have preexisting conditions and some worse than others.

If there are preexisting conditions that require medical care beyond the means of a person then yes families and society have a responsibiity to help these people----and that includes the insurance companies.

Built In Inflation in Medical System:

We continue to build in inflation in our medical system and society-----I am astonished when I look at billing for necessary medical procedures.

For sake of discussion-----the medical facility or doctor will bill the insurance company 20,000 for a necessary procedure ------the insurance company then has an amount allowed, say $10,000 and forgives the other 10,000. Then the deductible kicks in for the patient-----this varies.

Ultimately it looks like you are getting a bargain on the procedure ---and the person goes away saying I am glad I did not have to pay that.

The original billing of $20,000.00 is imo erroneous as the medical providers know that the insurance company will cut them back.

I agree with you that we do not need National Health Care where patients must wait years before having a necessary operation.
