Probably a muskrat. Over 10 pounds and it was a beaver but they usually slap their tail when diving.

Wish me luck, the lottery is $23 million this drawing. I win that I'll give my wife this house, buy the one across the road, tear it down and build the house I designed. 1,800 sq ft and has no hallways, no reason to use the basement other than tornadoes and as a workshop, no carpet, no tub and shower things, big walk in shower, no women or dogs or cats.

Don't you love it? I've lived a few places like that, and I loved taming the wild animals...not really taming them to hold them, but enough so they wouldn't run when I approached them..

What you probably saw if there was water was a beaver...
