Another rather serious question: Can the current population (and presumably future populations, since the chance of worldwide adaptation of birth control is essentially nil) be supported on a strictly vegetarian diet?

I didn't think that humans are omnivores was even in question.

And, yes, there are also diseases associated with a strictly vegetarian diet. And Alzheimer's is not the only one.
