You claim we are last in the space race and a whole lot of other crazy things. Uhhh........you are exaggerating again. I said we are being left behind. While we fight a senseless war in Iraq that may or may not lead to a democratic Iraq, the rest of the world is moving forward. That's not my imagination but the reality. I suspect if Kerry was in power, you'd be singing a whole different tune. Uh uh.......I voted for Kerry because he was the lesser of two evils. I still would want out of Iraq. You'd have rose colored glasses on because then you could attribute all the world's great changes to a Democrat. Why would I? I am not a democrat. Its a sign of the times that I am seen as a democrat and liberal. I have never registered with either party and I always have been fiscally conservative which use to be a trait of the GOP/Conservatives and not liberals. When the world has been turned upside down, and the sky becomes purple and the grass becomes red, that should tell you something is amiss. Instead, you dream a fool's dream......one inspired by a president who has been duplicitous and mendacious from the day he ran for the presidency in 2000........"a compassionate conservative", my ass. However, you hate Bush, and as such, can't stand to attribute anything positive in the world today to him. A lesser man......one who never did the work to be in higher office is president of the most powerful country in the world. Of course, I am mad. I am sickened at this turn of events. His incompetency is an offense. However, hate him? Hardly! He's too little of nothing to waste on being hated. So it's easier for you to believe that there is nothing positive going on in the world. There is positive going on in the world but its not inspired by Bush and his policies. When has it been positive, that killing and maiming hundreds of thousands of people in the hope of something good coming out of it.........when the odds are very much against you? That is what you are telling me, isn't it? That all this death and destruction may one day lead to something good. If this were a business deal, how long do you think you or Bush would last as head of the company? Then you can avoid the unpleasantness of having to explain how good things are possible with Bush in power. When it happens, I will be the first to let you know. In my life, I have not seen something good come out of something that has been done badly. However, there is always a first time. ted
