" But saying a family planning clinic is nothing but an abortion clinic is equivalent to saying a supermarket is nothing but a butcher shop. You focus on one item and ignore everything else."

Pay attention Laz. The statement above is false as can be seen by the following copied and pasted text. As have been your other allegations.

I have tried to clarify the discussion for you several times now, as one about how terminology is used, not about the services you are wailing about. I have provided you with links to help you see the context of the discussion, which you have either ignored or are incapable of understanding. The discussion isn't about what I think is good or bad about 'Women's Health Service Centers' or even abortion.

I have also offered to conduct the discussion you keep referencing if that is your pleasure … now you are slinking away from that.

===============================================

"My point was that there are positive elements to family planning and that it is neither clear nor fair to demonize it."

Point taken.

and

….helping people who want to be sexually active or even promiscuous with out the risk of 'being in a family way.'

and

I recognize that mose (sic: should have been most) family planning clinics usually provide a wide variety of services, mostly around sex education and how to avoid getting pregnant. They offer counseling and supply every kind of aid and service from the pill to partial birth abortion.

and

" You have offered several posts pointing out that family planning clinics should be viewed in a much broader context.

I have no problem with recognising that.

"I don't do the abortion debate."

Interesting. Yet you demand to know my opinion on issues that are totally irrelevant to me and this discussion, and for which I have little concern (birth control and abortion). At the same time you declare your refusal to discuss it.

Here's the thing Laz, there are debate topics that can be conclusively resolved because they have finite determinants. Like a property decision... "Should we buy a new yaught on a social security fixed income?" For it: what fun we could have. Against it: no resources to support the idea. Conclusion: The family has no plans for a new yaught this year. End of debate.

There are also debates that lack finite criteria for making a conclusive decision; they only recommend according to the possibilities ... like power, societal values, sexuality, growth and discovery, etc. etc. etc. So, if you would like to pull up a chair great. Have a cup of tea and let's chat. However, you must bring a gift like the rest of us and if you aren't going to join the party ... you don't get the benefit of the chatter. And, you miss the rewards of imagining the possibilities with hope for the future and even eternity. No chair for you at this tea party until you are ready to offer your gift of gab. Sign on the door: 'Voyeurs not welcome.'

Take care,
jewel
