K. I have on several occassions now validated the broader connotations of 'family planning' which you prefer and which is a positive view.

I was challenged and so provided a link to a site that is purely an abortion clinic and nothing more or less that uses the term 'family planning' synonymously with their service. Funding and the consciousness of America is formulated on our use of terms to represent practices and services. This seems a good enough reason all by itself to take a second look at the terms that are used to garner support.

An abortion clinic may legally and purposefully call it self a family planning clinic, and clearly they do. Although the term seems to be disappearing from society's radar, the two terms are not so obscure in our culture that every educated person would not recognise that connection and most do so without a blink. I blinked.

"Jewel, I can appreciate you're not wanting to get into a discussion of abortion here."

I am perfectly comfortable getting into such a discussion and invited Laz several times to go for it. I have been taking a lot of pains (without success) to clarify for you and Laz however that my discussion over the use of the term 'family planning' is in no way an opinion subject on the merits of the associated services.
