Your objection is that it could besmirch women's health care centers in general to acknowledge that. Why, I don't know, but that seems to be your point.

No, that's not my point. You can besmirch to your heart's content. My concern is the topic of this discussion, which is clarity. Clarity is obscured by imputed perspective, either intentional or unintentional.

This is clear: "Generally, family planning clinics perform a full range of reproductive and other female-specific services, but occasionally abortion clinics inaccurately and euphemistically call themselves family planning clinics."

I figured it was common knowledge and am rather flabbergasted by the response I got from you and Laz.

Our senses of common knowledge are a function of our sub-cultures. If you are surprised, it's because you have gotten your sense from narrow sources. Calling a family-planning clinic an abortion clinic is common in the anti-abortion sub-culture. (As is using "pro-abortion" rather than "pro-choice.") These terms are tells just as "y'all" identifies a southerner.

[Hospitals perform abortions, too, you know. Shall we call them "abortion clinics"?]
