Most of the more conservative threads don't have nearly as extensive ban lists as the more liberal ones do. That would explain why "I can't remember the last time I mentioned being banned from anywhere". Why some folks actually enjoy the contest of ideas. OTOH it seems like many liberal people think banning the sources of different opinions is important to maintain groupthink. "I pay attention to the thread header and try to stay on topic." Then why did you make the Iraq war remark on the gay marriage thread immediately after rudely chiding another poster for being off-topic? BTW I do think expanding the definition of marriage to include gays will lead to polygamous and group marriage legalization. Perhaps to incestuous and child marriage as well - different cultures have different rules about these things.
