Yes, unfortunately it is a serious concern. This is considered an earthquake zone, dubbed the ring of fire, extending from South America up to the Alaskan Aleutian Islands and down the other side of Asia.

I didn't feel a thing. But they say we are overdue for "the big one". Sort of like waiting around for a heart attack which may or may not come.

The swarm of earthquake on the Cascadia subduction zone is worth paying attention to. Here's something from Lane County, Oregon, which is in the middle of the state, north to south:
