First Canadian American Holding Corporation Announces Expansion to Macau
Business Wire - March 07, 2005 11:03

TORONTO, Mar 07, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- First Canadian American Holding Corporation (Pink Sheets:FCAH) announces today that it has set up a division to pursue casino related opportunities for development and management in Macau.

Macau, a 13 square mile enclave on the south China coast, is the hottest and second most lucrative casino market in the world behind Las Vegas. The Chinese city with a Portuguese accent is cashing in on its new popularity. These days, Macau is wooing commerce and tourism like never before, and plans are afoot for all kinds of family-oriented shopping malls, theme parks, towers and bridges, building on the enclave's attraction as a gambling haven.

With casino gaming continuing its rapid expansion into the Chinese gaming enclave of Macau, First Canadian wants to take advantage of this growing market.

Wynn Resorts Ltd. is developing a casino in Macau, and MGM Mirage is also exploring development opportunities in the area.

Sandy Winick of FCAH said the new division reflects the emphasis the company is placing on expanding its overseas business, "Asia, and specifically Macau, is rapidly becoming one of the most important gaming markets in the world," Mr. Winick continued "that as more Western-style casino developments open in Macau, more and more opportunities will develop."
