I wouldn't be so hasty in your assessment. Given some of the statements issuing from Republicans in general and Bush in particular, he very well may be the standard now...

No one is buying the "fake but true" excuse. CBS smelled smoke but couldn't find the fire, so they sparked one themselves, only to be caught with the lighter in hand.

No need to tell me that CBS was snookered. Even with the proof of forgery right in front of them, they stood by their story until public pressure forced them into a mea culpea.

I never said anything about Delay's honesty or lack thereof. Both an honest person and a dishonest person is equally likely to be peeved at CBS's stunt.
