That's a really interesting article- this is AMAZING:

At the very least we owe the animals we keep for food a benign existence until we slaughter them, although it would be nice if we could try to adapt to a vegetarian lifestyle since it is much lest wasteful or land and water. It's really amazing how much grain and water it takes to get one pound of beef.

And if one watches the TV show "Pet Star" on the "Animal Planet" channel, we can see all sorts of animals acting in an intelligent manner.
