Yours and John's assertions that the economy isn't doing well doesn't hold water. Everyone else seems to think that it is doing great.

MM, you are not stupid.....if you take a look at the economy through filtered lenses, it can be made to look great. The author used certain econ. parameters that made his case. He mentions the ISM report for services.....that was up but the ISM for manufacturing was down considerably. B2B for chips is back down under 1.0. Wage growth is not there. Inflation is picking up albeit slowly. Oil is at $50+. The budget deficit is big and getting bigger. Gas has jumped by $.25 in the last two weeks in some places.

But more importantly, if you ran your house financially like Bush and the GOP is running the country, you would expect to file bankruptcy in the next two years. That's what I fear.......that things are just okay now but its about to get much worse.

>Job gains weren't too cold, while tepid wage growth and a slight rise in unemployment kept them from getting too hot. In fact, they were just right.

>It was exactly the kind of report the market likes to see.

Exactly. Pro-corporate Republicans keep playing along with this stupid idea that what's good for the market is by necessity good for the common worker.

You and I have a different idea of what a good economy is.
