The place to store or dump nuclear waste is in the ocean at an induction zone. The waste would be drawn down into the earth to reappear millions of years later drained of its radioactivity. This was said by a Stanford physics Professor at a Vancouver Institute lecture several years ago.

There is some new fringe science technology for dealing with nuclear waste that is also being more or less buried by the powers that be, the same way alt.energy is being buried. This technology deals with accellerating the half life and/or changing the structure of the molecule (ie. alchemy) (both quite controversal from a scientific point of view). These technologies would essentially nuetralize the radioactive waste and turn it into inert materials.

Where were we 100 years ago? Could we conceive of biotechnology, nanotechnology, computer technology, space exploration, medical advances?

Do you really think that in 100 years from now our brilliant scientists will not have figured out a way to deal with the nuclear waste?

And, you have to consider that science progresses faster as time goes on.

Have a little imagination.
