A one time move of 5 years would shore up the social security system for a long time, but not forever unless you think that average life expectancy after 65 (or 67 or 70, or 72) will stop going up.

Still the one time move would be enough that no other major SS reform would be an urgent matter. It would probably be hard to pass but so would other changes.
