IMO, animal-headed gods are irrelevant to my life. I pretty much feel the same way about Bedouin religions. I was curious about what Greg felt about the one of the greatest monument building periods in the world's history based upon a qualitatively "false" religion (based upon my understanding of HIS world view hence the quotes on "religiously ill-informed"). I was merely speculating about his internal state. All that energy and effort to do what? Most likely, to maintain the order of the state.
