I haven't followed it closely except to say there is a natural cause and effect. Banning someone from a thread is a slight that would cause a response. If they can't respond here, where should they? If they are talked about here, or if they are referred to here as a group of some sort (eg, RWE's or wingers or whatever), where should they respond? Look, I log on the other morning and coug has this nasty post about SI conservatives just dangling there. If I was banned from here, you bet I'd have ripped him a new one on a different thread. I guess it all comes with the territory of moderated threads and the character of people who use ban lists as a safety barrier.
