Very true. It is hard to imagine that a little as 100 years ago, the automobile for the most part did not exist. Electric lighting was in its infancy, as were the telephone and radio. Television did not exist.

Which is why I am generally optomistic about the future. Pessimists worry about peak oil and other such claminites. But, if there's one thing mankind is rather good at, it is dealing with adversity and making the necessary changes. Mankind has an incredible ability to create and innovate. Just over the past 5 years the advancements in alt.energy have been nothing short of astounding. Where will we be in another 5 years, or 50 years, or 100 years? No worries! W

Have a little imagination? Burdening future generations with horrible nuclear waste before we have the problem figured out is extremely short sighted and selfish, not to mention highly insane.
So when you tell me to have a "little imagination" you are in effect saying "we" have created this horrible monster which threatens the health and safety of future generations, but have no fear, because we will eventually slay it somehow, someday... Forgive me for telling it like it is and saying that is a very crazy way to think.
