Some gaps get filled, but not all gaps get filled.

Hi MJ,

Gaps provide support (or resistance, depending on whether the underlying trend is up or dow). To me, gaps are no different from any other kind of support or resistance level. Often gaps will get filled before the stock moves on, but this depends partly on how big the gap is, and the volume associated with it. If it is a large, high-volume (professional) gap, the chances it will get filled are a lot less than if the gap is small and retail.

The notion that "all gaps get filled" is oversimplistic and misleading IMHO.
