This was my response to your post -- the only response you received:

<Our troops do one thing: They pledge to serve and protect the United States of America. They do not enter to kill anybody or to decide what wars to fight or not to fight. Soldiers do what they are ordered to do -- it is the nature of military service. The war we started in Iraq was NOT made by the military and certainly not by individual soldiers. The war in Iraq was started by American politicians.

As to why people are in military service, your characterization is a farce. The motivations are as varied as the people in the service and a very high percentage of those in Iraq are not there by choice and can't wait to get out. Recruitment goals are not being met for the first time in many, many years.>
