We are almost in complete agreement.

I can understand how & why harsh retorts can come about when
others have lowered themselves into the gutter & pretend to
claim the high ground in complete oblivion to their obvious
hypocrisy. That they compound it by engaging in this
inappropriate activity after they have silenced the
dissenters, then attack them so they cannot respond or defend
themselves does exasperate things. It only makes things worse
when they falsely claim to be inclusive. And proclaiming
their "feelings" to be rock solid fact while stifling all
contrary facts & evidence is certainly infuriating enough in
& of itself to elicit harsh retorts.

Unfortunately, any harsh rhetoric, no matter how accurate it
may be, only provides fodder for them to use against us. They
will never see their own obvious hypocrisy when we crawl in
the gutter with them. All they will ever see is proof they
were always right(eous) & we really deserved to be
banned..... regardless of the facts.

Look, I've been guilty of engaging in it here too. It
certainly feels good to stick it to them given the
circumstances. But the more we engage in that type of
activity, the more we look just like them.

And I do not want to be perceived to be no different than a
bunch of name calling, vicious, mean spirited, back stabbing,
closed minded, groupthinging, exclusionary, stiflers of open,
honest debate.
