It sure beats a piece of paper called a restrainng order. And not only that, maybe you've made a good argument for taking guns away from the police. After all, what good is a handgun going to do for a police officer when somebody is bent on murdering a police officer?

Look, I have several firearms but I do not carry. I'm not afraid of goblins in my area, mainly because most people have at least one firearm in their home and familiarity with firearms is ubiquitous. If I lived in a city with gun control laws, say like Washington DC, I WOULD be afraid. In those cities, goblins have firearms and normal people are likely not to because they tend to obey the law.

The whole point of a Concealed Carry law is to make GOBLINS afraid. They should never be too sure that a potential victim will not have a concealed firearm and be willing and able to use it.

A second but equally important reason that law abiding citizens should be able to enjoy the full benefit of the Bill of Rights, which clearly states: THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. And don't come up with an argument about PEOPLE applies only to militia. Nowhere else in the Constitution does THE PEOPLE mean anything other than individuals. It is the very essence of freedom.

DON'T GIVE UP LITTLE SLIVERS OF YOUR FREEDOM FOR A MINISCULE "BENEFIT" OF SECURITY. Your security and freedom will be immeasurably diminished if we lose the Second Amendment.
