"It's not us Westera, it's you. You have a solitary thread here. Not many visitors.."

Let's see. There are 30 bookmarks, so "solitary" is quite
misleading & inaccurate. You have no idea how those folks
think, so you are speculating at best.

FWIW, this thread was created for me. I even say so in the
thread header.

And based on many of the politically oriented thread on SI,
this thread is quite unique. All discussions here are to be
civil. They are required to be reality based, backed up with
real facts from credible sources that can be independently
verified. I doubt you can honestly name another thread that
has those same standards & consistently enforces them.

I have never promoted my thread on SI, so those who have it
bookmarked found it on their own.

IMO, this thread has exceeded my expectations. It has allowed
me to organize a vast amount of relevant information by
subject matter so it is quickly available for me to share
with others here on SI & elsewhere. I never expected more
than a dozen or so folks to stumble upon it & bookmark it.

Bookmarks are still near its all time high (34 I believe)
even though the elections are long over. I fully expected to
see a sharp decline then. It never happened.

So dismiss, diminish, ridicule & minimize my thread all you
wish. I couldn't be happier with the results thus far.

So what was your point anyway?

"I think it would be a better thread if you entertained more posts and didn't require the verification that you esteem as so essential"

Sorry Suma, that's not going to change. I created this thread
to expose reality defying POV's & to encourage reality based
debate.

That's why this thread isn't wildly popular. It's a lot
harder to defend your POV with real facts from credible
sources. Particularly when it comes to politics - a very
emotional subject.

Opinions are worthless if they aren't reality based. I want
to expand my horizons & make sure that I am well informed,
but only from a reality based perspective. Discussions on
this thread are going to remain reality based.

From the thread header.....

“Most people nurture the facts that confirm their world view
and ignore or marginalize the ones that don't, unable to
achieve enough emotional detachment from their own political
passions to see the world as it really is.” - David Brooks

You can find a plethora of threads on SI that fit perfectly
into what David Brooks said. That kind of thinking is not
welcome here.

If your world view is not reality based, then how in God's
name can it be relevant? And what could I possibly learn from
someone's, biased, emotionally charged, unsubstantiated &
frequently misguided opinions?

"When one does post a link you attack the link as being liberal, biased etc etc etc. What's the use,."

That's your perception of events. Unfortunately, it's not
reality based.

When I challenge a link, I have good reason every time.

Can you show me a time or two when I challenged someone here
& I wasn't able to back up my challenge with real facts from
credible sources?
