Again, its not what I am disputing. In a country with free speech, his position is not so terrible. I am surprised at your reaction.

My reaction to the fact that he made controversial statements is not that strong, what is more upseting is that people on the other side of the issue get harsher treatment.

How so?

"Determining the boundaries of this dispute is a slippery exercise. At root it is about some Jewish students and recent graduates, who could number several dozen, contending that in recent years they felt mocked and marginalized by pro-Palestinian professors. They have not, however, pointed to any grade retribution.

OK, so that isn't as bad. I still would be against the enforced ideoligcal conformity but while that isn't a good thing its not unusual.

What do you mean enforced ideological conformity? How is he doing that when there are people who openly disagree with him? I understand that he makes strong statements that can be offensive but I wonder if this isn't more of a tempest in a teapot.

I also noted that it got taken out of the classroom when an Israeli group did a video exposé on Massad. Frankly, I find that almost as offensive as what Massad said. I am noticing more and more how much Israel influences American activities. I thought it was confined primarily to DC lobbying but seems to go much further than that.

I have to tell you something funny. I've noticed this with you and others as well as my self........we all are starting to have a tendency to spell some words like the Brits or the Canadians do. I think its all the foreign press postings as well as some postings from Europeans.

There are times when I will look on a word say like defense and wonder if its spelled correctly. The other day I typed the word, behavior.......decided it was wrong, and retyped as behaviour, and then posted it. I went on to the next post before I realized my mistake. <g>
