Re: Judging from the size of the street sign and the human feet in the background, I'd say the size of the piece was about 5 feet tall and less than 3 feet wide.

What about the framing square? Is that real, or has it been Photoshopped for effect?

For starters, I honestly don't know enough about jet engines to tell if we're looking at a "whole fragment" or not. I go on at times about what I perceive as a need for the 9/11 research community to get together and do an investigation of our own, with our own experts. Popular Mechanics is a rag, but at least they went through the motions of getting their views rubber stamped by someone who could pass for being considered an informed opinion. Regardless of how sloppy and slanted the end result was, at least it was done on a level above that of an Internet blog.

I've seen the tire debate before. From where I'm sitting, the arguments lack substance. Does Boeing use a single tire line for each individual jet they build? Do airlines only replace worn tires with the OEM brand? Do suppliers change from time to time?

There are a lot of aspects of 9/11 that are well documented, but the great tire and engine debate is not one of them.
