XOM hit its high of the year prior to the speech.

"XOM is...er...active. Look at the volume!"

David, caught a blurb on Bloomberg yesterday afternoon that said Merrill had bought 13 million shares of XOM at $63 then turned around and sold 11 million at the same price.

My view on XOM's CEO comments are there in the same boat as OPEC, high oil prices aren't good for big oil producers if demand contracts or alternative energy sources are brought on line. I look at his comments about the same way I look at OPEC's attempted to talk down prices.
