I enjoy our neighbors so much, but I would never continue a discussion past a certain point with them, because the chance of offending someone is too great. With people you value you pull back way before things get nasty (and who hasn't sort of pulled back completely, when they've met someone who CLEARLY is looking for an argument in 3d? You know those times when you say "Yeah, absolutely, I know what you mean, sure, you got that right...", and you start looking for an exit door...) Radical views are fine - but there is zero point arguing about them, since once the points are out there, it's pretty much over (imo).
