Why the rush to pass this now? I have an idea. Maybe the lenders and buyers of mortgage debt see the housing bubble popping down the road, and they want to make it harder for debtors to simply walk away?

And of course a certain percentage of people are forced into bk because of unpaid major surgery/hospital debt they can never pay. Now they should be in a rush to fix that.

Yikes. We've got the historic high debt, we can't afford the trillion we need to rebuild our country and it's infrastructure, we don't have money to fix social security, we don't have a plan to get healthcare to children and the elderly. The well are running dry and we aren't nearly aggressive enough about tapping new energy sources.
Our children are screwed.
