It's called a psy-op. The American public is a target for psy-ops, part of which is being led to believe they are members of a democratic society. It's been building since the end of WWII and got a major boost with the assassination of JFK. Now there's a rush to get things more solidly in place as the scramble for oil necessitates widespread killing. Could a ruling elite stand up and tell people that the shit's about to hit the fan and we gotta go kill for oil? Or would that cause a little consternation among billions of the world's populace? It's thought better to control the situation and manipulate the people to an end. Psy-op 'em. The thing is...it's a very short-sighted leadership. When push comes to shove, for real (so far it's just been relatively minor), and any of several regions around the world adopt a total "us or them" stance as far as who's going to get the oil, somebody will come up with the idea, "if we don't get it then nobody gets it". Poof, the ME gets nuked. Oil doesn't have to run out for there to be a massive global breakdown. All it takes is for the flow to slow down. The world is built on growth...progress...development. The overwhelmingly prevailing drive toward growth was started after the Rennaissance when exploration of the world kicked in to high gear. That urge to explore was kicked in when rule over the people by religious leaders crumbled under those leaders' own corruption. Until then, everything did what it did because God did it. You can see the change especially in art over that period. The subject of art moved from the religious to the mundane. The explanation that things were so because God made it so no longer worked because nobody could believe the corrupt relgious leaders anymore. So off we went to discover and invent. Growth, progress and development became the driving force of the world. When available oil slows to a point where growth cannot be fed...to where real contraction begins instead...the shit WILL hit the fan. The fan's already turned on high and there's alotta shit comin' down. Why do you think that religion is now being shoved down everyone's throat again? Evolution is being attacked...science is being given a bad name. Growth will no longer work so religion now has to try to take its place as a driving force. Another psy-op.
