boris has made his priorities clear already: "The obvious mixing with material self-interest is corrupting everything"

See, if have any self-interest involved anywhere (kind of by definition, the sole superpower has self-interest involved everywhere), you can't do anything because your hands are not pure. But boris, his hands are always pure. Because all he is ready to do is deplore tyrants and say a few words of encouragement to democrats from his own mature democracy.

Does any rational person think that the Lebanese would have dared to take the streets against Syria if it were not for the "corrupted" US influence in the region? What would make them think that they would not just be massacred in the fine old tradition of the Assad regime?

Curious, isn't it, that hypocrisy is supposedly the chief sin to the left, but the left itself sees no hypocrisy whatsoever in deploring US "self-interest" while turning a blind eye to Syrian wholesale self-interest in Lebanon (the tottering Syrian economy couldn't make it without stealing Lebanon blind and sending a million Syrian workers over to Lebanon)? Why is it that every place in the world but the US is allowed to have self-interest?
