How did those losers get in charge? This letter is dated March 7, 2005:

Dear Mr. Secretary-General:

I have the honor on behalf of the Government of the United States of America to refer to the Optional Protocol to the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations Concerning the Compulsory Settlement of Disputes, done at Vienna April 24, 1963.

This letter constitutes notification by the United States of America that it hereby withdraws from the aforesaid Protocol. As a consequence of this withdrawal, the United States will no longer recognize the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice reflected in that Protocol.

Sincerely,

Condoleezza Rice

The coal and oil lobbyists are loving the public's ignorance of nuclear plants. They know how amazing an amount of enriched nuclear fuel can superheat water to generate power and have an effluent, water, friendly to every creature that swims in it. The coal that comes from Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and others is loaded with high sulphur that chokes the life out of those who have to breath that air.
We still have N.P. down here in plants that are old now, and still producing power.

Just imagine new, current tech. that can achieve even more safe power without dependency for off-shore oil supply. This power is so efficient and affordable we would have to have a Mr. Smith Goes To Washington to get it through.
The Saudis would freak. The Middle East would freak. They did when we were in full production of nuclear, and now they are pursuing it for their own people. Remember gas wars?
They ain't no dummies, and every time you read of them going for their own N.P. plants don't buy into the thought they just want weapon-powered weapons from the current technology.
They just sit back and laugh at Bush and his cronies.
Well we'll face the facts sooner or later. It's not like a meteor is going to whack us in a couple months.
Our politicians will milk us for trillions first.

Waste?

Detroit wants us to keep buying outragious cars that suck gas like a crack whore.

That is precisely why Detroit has been dying since the VW came over here. They didn't respond; the Japanese did, and now we have only 2 US companies, and one German one in Detroit. Pretty soon, hybrids/ fuel cells/ electric/ mouse power will all be manufactured by foreigners.
Next, because we have frittered away 25 years researching alt energy, the world will buy windmills from Europe and solar from ?, and we will have lost one more industry . But, ya know, conservation is bad for the economy, better fuel consumption will put people out of work, blah, blah....

(PRWEB) March 8, 2005 -- Worldwide initiatives to reverse the growing dependence on oil lead to high growth rates for clean energies. The R & D spending in USA, China, Japan and Europe reach more than 25 bn US $. Nanotechnology and molecular technologies play a key role in the development and the efficiency of the energy systems and the costs. This will dramatically improve the technologies and applications. In 2005 the market will reach 130 bn US $ and create 1.2 million jobs. Hkc22.com anticipates 255 bn US $ by 2010 and 429 bn US$ by 2015 with 3 million jobs. China will be the biggest single market worldwide.

The markets include hydrogen, hydropower, wind power, photovoltaics, solarthermal, geothermal, biomass, biofuel and service/maintenance.

15 percent of the world population consume more than 70 percent of the energy and 40 percent have still no access to energy at all.

There is a heavy and aggressive competition between countries and companies on new technologies and systems and to get most of the jobs available. The winner will achieve the environmental protection and sustainability.
