Speaking of right brain-- our choirs had a professional clinician come in to work with the kids this week and she did some exercises having to do with R-L brain coordination. (It was to show how very difficult it is to sing a line that has musical emphasis on one syllable that when spoken would be emphasized elsewhere. It can be a big problem for songs that have poor translations).
I was a complete failure at this, which was sad because being a pianist I was sure I would be outstanding since my hands go separate ways all the time. But No.
Hold you right hand out like you're pointing, index finger extended. Your left hand starts in the thumbs up (let the gladiator live) position. Now try to reverse those positions at the same time. Left hand thumb goes down, index finger points. Right hand- finger in, thumb up.
No one could do it.
I came home and it took me about five minutes to get it by practicing the way I do a hard measure, hands alone and then together- now it is automatic. I don't know whether that would be a good learning time or a slow one.
This has nothing to do with anything, I realize.
Maybe I just want you to say, Good for you!

"good for you!"?

Yes. That goes to the top of my list.
