What I am seriously saying is that the US disbanded the Iraqi military without regard for the consequences and as a result destroyed the prospects for policing Iraq in a civil and effective manner. They disbanded the Wehrmacht too in 1945, and Germany suffered a very rough 4 years afterwards. Some organizations are, shall we say, problematic to keep around as is and need to be rebuilt. Because if they had not disbanded it, the same criminals who are sending suicide bombers into mosques would have remained colonels in the army! You seriously think that would have been an improvement?
