And please don't tell me there are lefties who do the same. They are pikers compared to these monsters. You seem like a good person but trust me, this constant and antagonistic sparring on the part of rightie pundits will keep the schism wide open and deep. Do you have any idea the revolt caused by the Dan Rathers, Peter Jennings, Howard Raines and their ilk causes among the centrists and conservatives in this country. In addition, because editorializing at the center of the left is not extreme enough, you people have to recruit ideologues like Al Franken. Come on, you have to realize that the biased output of the FMSM are the primary cause of the chasm that separates the left from the right. If the NYT, CBS, etc. reported both sides of stories accurately, then their consumers would be able to draw their own conclusions. Columbia University (in highly liberal NYC) just reported that the FMSM was slamming President Bush three times as much as they were reporting negatively about Kerry in the 2004 election. If you hate Ann Coulter and like Dan Rather, you are stating that accuracy and documentation of claims is a bad thing. (A slick biased media figure is preferable to a confrontational accurate one.) It appears the reason Ann is hated is because she documents the left wing media bias. The lefts "final solution" for the media bias problem is to send the documenters and reporters of the fact to concentration camps. Destroy those who oppose. Repairing the problem could not be addressed by reporting facts accurately (in the playbook of the left). Call Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilley rightists is an interesting accusation. They are probably less right than the body of the FMSM is left. And that, my friend is the cause of the chasm, you hate the reflection of what you love.
