Norton is uneven as an author. Never was too fond of him.

Actually, Norton is a female. It took me several decades to stumble across that information. She was born in 1912 and is still kicking. I only read one other novel by her. She wrote mostly fantasy...not my bag then, or now. Another apocalyptic writer from that time period that I enjoyed was John Wyndham, the author of "Day of the Triffids."

Jack McDevitt wrote a book called "Eternity Road" about ten years ago that pretty much covered the same terrain of as "Daybreak 2250."
