Medical cost inflation is indeed running out of control.

About the only thing even crazier than real estate right now.

You have to take these hospital bills with a grain of salt. Medicare or your insurance company did not pay the large sum. For my new hip the hospital bill was $41000. I talked to and requested how much Blue Shield paid. Answer: $15,000. Same with an ankle operation I had. Blue shield only paid about 1/3 of the bill I got. They have something called PNR- Pre negotiated rates. So does Medicare.
