I disagree. They led us to believe they were fighting it then. Unfortunately, I'm very busy this week and don't have much searching time available. In fact, I'll be off this machine shortly. If you examine some of the links in the below thread headers, you'll note how the Bush Administration made the correlation that waging the war in Iraq was waging the war on terrorism. Bush, et. al., even implied that the small group of Al Qaeda that was camped out in the northeastern part of the Iraq--deep within the US-controlled No-Fly Zone, had something to do with Saddam. They also claimed that an Al Qaeda individual who sought medical treatment in Baghdad was proof that Saddam was in league with Al Qaeda. Also, claims were made that Al Qaeda had a training camp outside of Baghdad. Tonto, there were several instances where the Bush Adminstration attempted to prove there was such a link. How can they even try to convince us that they are fighting a real war against terrorism when they refuse to control the Mexican border? Have the terrorists not heard of Mexico? Don't like Mexican food or what? It's a farce. A real enemy would have American cities burning by now considering that the ports and borders are unsecured, and airline baggage is not effectively screened. "Taking it to the enemy" doesn't prevent an attack on American soil when there is no defence. This administration is the worst bunch of salespeople I've ever seen. Their terror pitch is a complete non-starter. Geez, they've even liberated Lebanon ROTFL. No wait, dang, a counter demonstration one hundred times as large just broke out. How long can the right put up with the incompetence of their leaders? How long can the left put up with the spineless inactivity of their "leaders"? You guys appear to be in a spot of trouble moving forward. Cheap Mexican labor trumps the war on terror. That says that your leaders are either lying about the war on terror, or they could give a shit about your safety. Perhaps both.
