Sarmad, I agree with your thoughts, and certainly about making volatility work for you over short periods of time.

The only reason to do so is that they do have an influence on stock prices. As you know, upgrades or downgrades usually move stock prices several percent for a day or two - after that, perhaps not much influence. Over the longer term, say several months or more, projections like CSFB has just made for 05 and 06 on declining capital expenditures will depress average trading prices for those stocks that qualify.

Having said that, I am with you on embracing the volatility that we see in the markets today, and using it for one's own trading advantage. Beat them at their own game, so to speak.:)
