"If I were President, I for one would not sit back and let another 9/11 happen again."

The actual question is whether or not you would have reacted to all the warnings and prevented the original 9/11...

Re: Americans are targets.

The American taxpayer is clearly a target of the criminals in the military-industrial complex.

Just yesterday I heard about "contractors" like the GOP hacks at the Custer-Battles field offices tossing around bales of our tax money, in the shape of bales of $100 bills as if they were having a mock football scrimmage. This was before they put the bales into gunnysacks to haul it off, unaccounted for, to their banks in Israel. Yup, the American taxpayer is unquestionably being targetted.

Are you aware that the standard policy when a U.S. miltary vehicle in Iraq gets a flat tire that the policy is to burn the vehicle to deny it to the enemy? At $85,000 a pop for up-armored Humvees, the American taxpayer is getting bled from every pore.

And the military suppliers love every one of these losses.

Catch-22.

re: As far as letting the world live their lives as they please. Most certainly. But when we are attacked, we must respond. If I were President, I for one would not sit back and let another 9/11 happen again.

Are our current actions increasing or decreasing the chances we'll be attacked again? Increasing.

Why were we attacked on 9/11? Was it because we "let the world live their lives as they please"? No.

re: But when we are attacked, we must respond

And why is bin Laden, the ONLY one who attacked us, twice, still at large?

Political isolationism has a long conservative history.
