Winston -

Engineers are never allowed to name products. It was somebody in Marketing who came up with the name.

Here's a little story for you. When I was working for a network consulting company back in the '90s, our marketing group decided one day that we needed a way to differentiate ourselves from other consulting companies. They came up with a new term to describe our area of networking expertise: "e-Frastructure". They went so far as to trademark the term, and then issued press releases.

The engineers were horrified.
