speeches about the need "to be patient" is not what the foreigners want to hear though

then the furriners are in denial. what did they expect? that Greenspan is suddenly going to become Volcker? the furriners will get what they deserve--they dug their own graves.

my guess is the FCBs are simply talking tough so that they don't look like such dupes to their own people. but they know the drill.
