Sue,

A little more about the MACD indicator:

MACD is strictly a momentum indicator and not really used to enter or exit a stock. It is also a trending indicator.

The zero neutral line is not used as part of the trigger but rather used as an anchor of the histogram. Think of it as the place where all of the histogram bars are glued. The further away from that line the histogram bars are stretched, the harder the momentum will be coming back when the longer term trend changes directions.

The main thing to remember is that MACD is only a secondary indicator.

The same chart should explain my above statements on MACD:

Sue,

This might of interest you as well as all of the other traders who post here. I just completed the installation of the Voice Training Room on our website this morning.

It will require a small download which I have linked on the page above. The voice room is still in testing phase but should be ready this weekend so for those of you who are interested in real-time technical analysis training via a voice over IP classroom, this is for you.
