I'm baffled that you do not see U.S. military spending to be permanent and a huge parasitic cancer on the economy. The military is the most heavily socialized portion of the U.S. economy. The military has achieved this by engaging in seven decades of utterly cynical deceit and ruthless fear-mongering. This deplorable situation is allowed to go on because far too many people in power profit from this corruption of our nation.
