Agree. Having spent some time down there during the last 5 years and having known nada about it before, I must again say, that is one of the greatest places in the USA.

The middle Keys is an area still quite unknown to the outsiders. People seem to flock around Key West and Miami but not much in between.
Its not just about geography, it has a lot to do with the people living and having recently moved to down there from all over the US.
Add to that, Marathon airport, runways of which which were built to handle B52s during the Cuba crisis, is right now the only place to handle any significant additional traffic as will be required when Fidel drops dead. What an opportunity!
