What did you mean by you see him as a major betrayal?

He's betrayed himself and those of us who think similarly.
His link up with Bush......its making him very sick. He has asthma and he's becoming more dependent on his inhaler. He also had to check into the hospital recently. For a man like Blair, this war and the antipathy its created takes a heavy toll. He needs to quit the PM job but he won't. He's become obsessed.

Did you mean that Bush hasn't treated him right?

Why do you think he is called Bush's poodle? In the UK, that's a fairly harsh insult.

If that is the case, I agree. Bush squeezed Blair for cooperation and gave nothing in return. I guess recently he's condemned the IRA. So that's something, but it seems a little too little and too late.

Yup. He used Blair. And Blair's too much of a gentleman or too weak to call him on it. Its very sad. I don't understand what caused Blair to take this unusual right turn [for him].

There is this movie.....its a XMAS movie made by the Brits. Its called Actually Love I think. In that movie, Hugh Grant plays a Tony Blair-like Prime Minister. Bill Bob Thornton plays a Bush-like US president. Its quite interesting how they chose to present the two characters. The prime minister in the film confronts the US president in a way that I think many Brits wish Blair would confront Bush. Its not the heart of the story by any means but it was a significant portrayal assuming it represents how Brits see the Blair/Bush relationship.
